Nice 1701, a Commodore monitor cover included

Including two boxes of software (sold voor 30 euro), a 1988 PC game on 5 1/4 disk (King’s Quest IV, sold for 30 euro) and a C64 needing some tlc and a working 1541 drive. So, I guess the very nice 1701 have costs around 50 euro after selling of the commodore.

Nice.

1541-II boxed

Februari 2019

These blue boxed 1541-II drives were primarily sold in France…but this one is with UK and Dutch manuals. It might be sold overhere in Holland as well, who knows! So included in the collection. Pick up with a working C64c (early model, with the older breadbin assy). Forgot what i paid for this one. The C64c will be on auction again.

Lucky, nice set with hard to find extra’s

Februari 2019

I was lucky a few days ago: a full boxed set was offered with to extra boxes with books and hardware goodies. Contacted Harry Jan from Boxmeer after offering 60 euro, and to my surprise he agreed on the price. Well, ok! Drove up to Boxmeer to pick up the lot, including a lot of boxes with software.

Besides the boxed 1352 mouse, boxed 1541-II drive and boxed 64c, which are all in working order (and will definetly make up for the 60 euro’s spend) the following was included:

  • Turbo-corder, one of the many low priced datarecorders on the German market.
  • Magic Disk 64, German disk magazin, about 15, quit a lot not opened at all.
  • LCN Logo cartridge and manual, Dutch Logo User Group from Nijmegen (you can find some info on LCN in Commodore Info Year 3 Number 2, 1986).
  • Geo-ram, boxed and complete with manuals from Rex. It’s clone/copy of the Berkeley Softworks, released by Rex Datentechnik (nr. 1674).
  • Rushware Numeric Keypad for the C64.
  • Conrad Relais Karte for the Commodore 64, Rex Datentechnik Userport Protector (9622) and Printer Screen Module (9823) and eh…an userport extender?
  • Final Cartridge 3 with manual, the German manual, so I will keep this one. Trying to get all the international manuals 🙂
  • Turbo Computer Lightpen, Userport resetschalter, Disk Notcher, joystick, joystick cable extender, Disk Drive Head Cleaning set, Conrad DCF-77 receiver.
  • Batteries Included Printer Interface, boxed with manuals.
  • Simon’s Basic, with a Conrad manual. Seems that Conrad Electronics sold them in Germany.

And a lot….a lot of floppy’s with software…

Sometimes you are not that lucky.

Februari 2019

Will post later this weekend my new items of januari. All kinds of stuff, smaller and mostly just nice to have.

Anyway…a set of two breadbin’s, a monitor, printer, some joysticks and software and a hardware speedloader was offered on Marktplaats. The photo was not showing the monitor, and I was primarily interested in the hardware speedloader. Bidding went up to 130 euro..quit a lot, but I won and drove up to amsterdam to pick it up.

Long time since I got a set this dirty, but then again, if it is only dirt…Need to do some serious cleaning. On my trip to Amsterdam I was just thinking, what if the I get there and the monitor was a 1701. That would be nice 🙂

The monitor was a nice looking 1084s, compleet. The two breadbin’s where both failing, the assy was the 425 (meaning everything is soldered except vic/sid). While troubleshooting I misplaced a working PLA with the SID, ending up with a broken PLA.

The speedloader was a Mikrotronic Floppy Flash, some loose wires of the ribbon, we can fixed that. We also need a 1541 kernal, because it was not included (there was a 1541 diskdrive, but not the one used for the speedloader). And a need a socket for the 6522 to connect the ribbon to the 1541 drive.

Then I remembered that i did have some boxed speedloaders somewhere in my collection….I did a check up to find myself a brand new, complete Floppy Flash boxed. One of those days….there was no point in spending the time and the money 🙂

Will sell of the broken C64’s, the 1541, fix the floppy flash and sell it, and sell the other 1084s monitor I have and will keep this one in my collection. Keeping a joystick and some of the software (some original software disks, but no manuals etc).

So…end result. Five hours spend, 130 euro. A waste of time and money.
